Safety on Klevo
Klevo is built for adults who want to meet and work together, so safety is part of how it works rather than an afterthought. Here is what happens, in plain language.
Adults only
Klevo is for people aged 18 and over. You confirm this, and accept our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, before you can sign in.
Chat messages are checked
Before a message is sent to a space, our server checks it for abusive language, threats and harassment. Swearing and abuse are not delivered to spaces at all. Other people's devices check what they receive as well, and a message only shows if it carries the server's signed approval - so a modified copy of the app cannot push unchecked messages onto your screen.
Klevo also learns from its community: when several different established members report messages containing the same word, and that word is mostly reported when it appears, it is labelled and then hidden. Only the word is kept - never the message or who wrote it - and the site owner can review or reverse any word.
Files and pictures are checked
Files shared in a space are limited to images, video and PDFs up to 3 MB. The server confirms what each file really is, and programs or disguised files are refused.
Cameras are checked on every device
A camera image goes straight between people, so each person's own device checks the cameras it shows. A new camera stays blurred until it has been checked, and a camera that shows nudity or an obscene gesture is hidden immediately. Your own camera is checked too. This runs on your device; camera images are not sent to us for this.
Report and block
- Every chat message has a report button, and every person in a space can be reported from the People list.
- You can block anyone, and you choose whether to accept a message request.
- When several established accounts' devices independently flag the same person for serious content, that account is suspended automatically while a person reviews it. Administrators can ban accounts.
Your privacy
Messages in spaces are not stored by Klevo, and direct-message history is deleted after 24 hours. Read the full Privacy Policy for exactly what is collected and how to export or delete your data.
